Sevenposts Surgery Newsletter March 2013  - Extracts quoted below

 

"Planning for the Future" - exciting changes are happening to the surgery over the new few years. A new Primary Healthcare Centre is proposed bringing an extensive range of primary care services in a modern purpose built facility. Debra Elliott, Director of Commissioning Development at NHS Gloucestershire, said : "Following the decision to grant planning permission for the new Cleevelands housing development in Bishops Cleeve, NHS Gloucestershire is supporting Seven Posts and Greyholme surgeries to progress plans to build a new primary care centre within the development. GPs will soon be in discussion with the landowners to agree final details of the land that will be provided for this. The proposed primary care centre will ensure access to the very best services in excellent, purpose-built facilities in the future and will provide a wide range of primary care services in an efficient and joined up way."

 

There is a lot of work ahead of us before we will be able to move in to the new surgery. If all goes well, we can expect the move in 2015. We can reassure patients that all patients currently registered with us and living within the practice boundary can stay registered when we move to the new surgery.

 

Some patients have expressed concern that they may find accessing the new surgery difficult. Patient access issues are important to us and now that we have more clarity about the location of the new surgery we can start meaningful discussions with key stakeholders, including local councillors, regarding the provision of transport services from Prestbury to the new surgery.

 

The March newsletter continues with the news that patients will be kept informed of progress via newsletters, posters and the surgery website Severn Posts Surgery and that further public engagement events will  be held as plans progress to keep patients informed and to allow them to be involved in the design of the new surgery.
