Prestbury in Gloucestershire lies aproximately two miles to the north east of Cheltenham at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment.
Although now largely considered a suburb of Cheltenham the parish has retained its unique identity and along with its range of facilities and amenities remains a desirable area to live.
The Parish Council is proud to serve a population of just under 7,000 residents living in the popular parish of Prestbury. The parish, a former Medieval Borough, is roughly an oblong shape running from Noverton in the north east, encompassing Cheltenham Racecourse, and Hunting Butts to the north west, with its northern boundary at Hyde Brook and its southern boundary just beyond Prestbury Road.
Prestbury Parish is split between three Cheltenham Borough Council wards - Oakley, Prestbury, and Swindon Village, each representedf by two councillors on the Borough Council.The Parish is also split between two County Council divisions - Oakley, Pittville & Prestbury being represented by two County Councillors, and Springbank (which includes Swindon Village) represented by one County Councillor.
(Gloucestershire County Council Wards are currently under review by the Local Government Boundary Commission moving to a single member ward representation in time for 2013 local elections )
Prestbury falls under the parliamentary constituency of Tewkesbury.
